Welcome! Here’s a collection of love letters and similar items I received over the years, some wild and some cute. While deep-cleaning my room, I stumbled upon them between my old books and decided to reread them, rate them, and share a short backstory.

Disclaimer: I don’t see myself as someone attractive. The only possible reason I received love letters was that I used to be enrolled in a computer elective course, which was male-dominated and had very few female students. Hence, the men only had few options to choose from.

A guy friend gave me this letter. Most of what he wrote was about our memories together. But at the end note, he threatened that I should never forget any of it, or else he would kill me. I was baffled by the blood signature, it was silly.

8/10 cute and morbid

I couldn’t help but laugh when I received this. My first thought was whether he realized that vandalizing bills is illegal. I found it both cute and stupid. On the back, he wrote some messages and explained the drawing. He mentioned struggling with depression, but since we became friends, he said his life has become much more colorful?

9/10 funny and sweet

A tech guy I’ve been friends with for three years handed me a few papers that I initially thought were scratch notes, so I tossed them in the trash. Later that evening, he told me they were actually doodles of me, so I quickly picked them up. He confessed that he liked me a lot but hated that I pretended not to know how to fix my computer or code, just to make him feel good about his tech skills. I told him I liked him too, but he said I should date someone smarter than me instead of acting dumb for his sake and ego.

8/10 we never talked again.

A thug texted me asking if he could court me, and I replied that I would appreciate it if he wrote me a love letter. The next day, he gave me this empty notebook and said, "This is how speechless I am when I'm near you." It was the lamest pick-up line I had ever heard, but his gang was cheering for him a couple of meters away, and I found it wholesome.

11/10 wholesome experience

A classmate sent me this. Inside, it just says "we are soulmates," followed by a photo of naked anime characters kissing, with arrows in their head pointing to "you and me." I think I punched him and returned the paper, so I don’t know how I still have this, but I'm definitely throwing it out now.

0/10 I think it's a prank letter

One of the letters I received on Valentine's Day. It made me smile, as it was filled with compliments. Usually, I only receive chocolates, and now I regret not keeping the gift tags for remembrance.

10/10 the letter was very sweet

This was given to me by an arrogant guy I really dislike, so I was surprised and felt guilty when I received it before graduation and found out he actually admired me.

9/10 i was moved

This is more of a friendly letter from someone who identifies as bi. They wrote that they've been observing me for a few weeks and wanted to be friends with me. They listed reasons why we should be friends.

10/10 they could have just said hi to me, but I appreciate the extra effort.

These are more of thank-you notes than love notes, given to me by my friends in college before the semester ended.

10/10 i love them so much

In an activity I participated in at my university, each of us was given a piece of colored paper: red, orange, yellow, and blue. The facilitator instructed us to give yellow to people we wanted to know more about, orange to those we admired, red to those we were in love with, and blue to those we were grateful for. These are the pieces I received, and I felt very happy and shy.

10/10

This is a love letter written by one of my titas. I cried reading the entire message, as it was filled with love, sisterly advice, and words I needed to hear.

10/10 i love her

This is a love letter written by my tito, filled with compliments and encouragement about my strengths.

10/10

This is a letter from one of my stepfathers expressing how much he loves me as his daughter.

2/10 i don't really like him, i just tried to be polite

That's all I could find for now, thanks for reading.
